Recently I’ve posted a story on how Rock Band will compare to the all mighty Guitar Hero.  And then Guitar Hero goes and announces that they will not only rock your PS2’s and 3’s as well as the amazing Wii, but it will also be available for the PC and Mac.  How are we ever going to get work done if you can play Guitar Hero III all day?!?  There will be a USB friendly controller and enough songs to rock your face off…..what now Rock Band?

After billions of rumors that torched the internet this summer swearing on your mama’s grave that the band is going to reunite, the rockers have put all of our hearts at ease by announcing a one show deal.  Which you know how that normally turns out.  See: Reunion Tour.  According to this post on Stereogum.com, the guys will toss aside their negativity for a one night show on 11/26 in London at the o2 Arena.  I’d give just about anything to be there…..even though tickets are starting at about $250 a pop!

Having spent a good portion of the last six years involved one way or another in the music industry, I was lucky enough to have a shit ton of music come my way. Unfortunately, the glut of music also led to A) a lot of records not getting a whole lot of time (if any at all) and B) my excitement level for music waning and eventually leveling off. However, through all of the clutter, records would sometimes shine through and really excite the hell out of me.

During my three and a half years at The Syndicate (which just ended,) those records included Stellastarr* – Stellastarr*, The Killers – Hot Fuss, Bloc Party – Silent Alarm, Death From Above 1979 – You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine, Say Anything – … is a Real Boy, The Spinto Band – Nice and Nicely Done, Boredoms – Seadrum/House of Sun, The Sword – Age of Winters, 120 Days – 120 Days, Panda Bear – Person Pitch and a few others. I highlight these not to try and show off my musical tastes (most of em are a bit too popular now to gain me any hat tips, anyway) but to give attention to em all in case you, dear reader have yet to experience them. I’m sure I’ve missed a few but that’s a damn good chunk.

Well, the point of all of this rambling is that another record has jumped out and started to really excite me. That record is The Cribs’ Men’s Needs, Women’s Needs, Whatever. I really liked the band’s previous record, The New Fellas, but more-so because of a few stand-out tracks (and this amazing interview) than being excited by the record as a whole. However, this new one is really grabbing my attention. (more…)

I have to admit that Billy Corgan has a thing for hot bassist chicks.

If so, then you need to purchase the best guitar in the world! And I’m not just saying that. Yeah they have the Randy Roads guitar, but it doesn’t beat the Angel Sword Guitar that has been brought to us by the ever so kind folks of ESP. It was custom designed for Alfee of Takamizawa and should now belong to me.  Actually now that I think about it, this guitar reminds me of Thundercats (hooooo!).  Who wants to purchase this for me? Anyone!? (note Thank you Michael for the tip)

Looking for the ultimate way to air shred?  Well your prayers have been answered with invention of this little guy.  Yeah that’s right!  You can air shred while pressing the chord buttons to get the full on guitar experience.  It also comes with the option of plugging into an amp.  They couldn’t make it any easier!  Check it out for yourself.

Well partially revealed that is.  One of the counters on the page has actually stopped and has revealed that the band will be performing on 8/24/2007 (tickets on sale 6/16/2007 at 10AM) at Alpine Valley in Wisconsin.  What could the other counter mean?  Full blown tour is my guess…Thoughts?
