Flight of the Conchords: Episode 1 Available for Viewing May 22, 2007

Posted by James in Comedy, TV.

I was lucky enough to see a screening of the first episode of Flight of the Conchords on Thursday at some release party thing-a-majig (see: free alcohol.) Originally a comedy/parody band, HBO was so into the guys that they gave them their own show and it is set to premiere on Sunday, June 17th at 10:30pm.

The show plays out like a sitcom that occasionally sidetracks into music videos that go along with the storyline. I thought it was pretty damn funny and am curious to see how the masses of America respond to the band’s special brand of comedy as it’s not as straight forward as a lot of what’s out there.

I won’t bother giving you any details on the actual episode as it’s now available for viewing on HBO’s web site. View it here and then comment below to let the world know what you think. In fact, how about you aim for answering this question: How well do you feel this style of comedy will be with your typical HBO audience?

Also, don’t forget that Jemaine from Flight is starring in the movie Eagle vs. Shark that will be released in NYC and LA on June 15 and to the rest of the country on June 22nd. Check out the trailer below:
