Singles and Disposable Music. May 14, 2007

Lately there have been rumors that some of the major labels are signing acts based on singles and not for an entire albums.   Due to disposable music today, are we going back to the days of when 45’s and singles but replacing those terms with track downloads?  According to this article, “physical cd sales have declined 20 percent” and “digital tracks are up to 288 million from 242 million at the same period last year.” Sounds like trouble…
